“Hey, Hey, Hey”
Like many kids who suffer from long-term serious illness, Holmes is wise far beyond his years. His mom, Clare describes him as “funny, charming, brave, positive.” So It is no wonder that a kid like Holmes would choose a song like Michael Franti’s Hey Hey Hey, an anthem of positivity and resilience, for his Heartbeat Sessions song. In this recording, Holmes’ whole family—including beloved local musician (and Holmes’ dad) Dave, his mom, Clare, and his little brother Vince (aka the Captain)— sing backup vocals, a new and exciting moment in Heartbeat Sessions history!
Interestingly, this recording wasn’t Holmes’ first time singing this song in front of an audience: he once got to sing it live on stage with Franti himself, in front of thousands of people!
